Text message terms
Effective September 19, 2026
Prompt Hands runs two text programs: booking updates for customers, and job offers and dispatch messages for the people who do the work. Both are opt-in. These terms cover both.
Consent is not a condition of purchase
You do not have to agree to texts to book a crew, and you do not have to agree to texts to apply for work. The checkbox is never pre-checked. Leave it alone and the booking still goes through — we write to you by email instead.
1. How you opt in
Customers opt in at the contact step of the booking form, by checking a box that is not pre-checked and reads: “Text me updates about this booking. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out.” We record the date and time you checked it.
People applying for work opt in the same way on the application form, with equivalent wording. Consent is not a condition of being considered.
2. What we send
If you are a customer, the messages are tied to a booking you made:
- A confirmation when the booking is made, with the date, arrival window, address, crew size, the block of hours reserved, and the amount charged.
- A reminder the day before.
- A message the morning of, naming your crew lead and the arrival window.
- A message when the crew marks the job finished, asking you to confirm.
- Replies to messages you send us, and the occasional message about a change to your booking.
If you work with us, the messages are about work:
- Job offers, which you accept or decline by reply.
- Details and reminders for jobs you have accepted.
- Replies to messages you send us.
We do not send marketing or promotional texts to customers under this program.
3. Message frequency
Message frequency varies. Customer messages are triggered by your own booking rather than sent on a schedule, so how many you get depends on how many jobs you book and what happens during them. Worker messages depend on how often you are offered work.
4. Cost
We do not charge you for these messages. Message and data rates may apply from your mobile carrier, depending on your plan. Check with your carrier if you are unsure.
5. STOP — how to opt out
Reply STOP to any message from us and we will stop texting that number. UNSUBSCRIBE, END, CANCEL, QUIT, and STOPALL work the same way. You will get one message confirming it, and then nothing further.
Opting out cancels every message already queued for your number, not just future ones. It does not cancel your booking, and it does not stop us from calling or emailing you about a job you have booked.
To start again, reply START, or check the box the next time you book.
6. HELP — how to get help
Reply HELP to any message and we will reply with how to reach us. You can also email hello@prompthands.com at any time.
7. Carriers and reliability
Automated messages come from our dispatch number, which is not the same as the line a person answers. Add it to your contacts if you like.
Messages may be delayed or may not arrive at all. Neither we nor your mobile carrier is liable for a message that is late or never reaches you. Carriers are not liable for the content of these messages. We never send anything time-critical by text alone.
Supported carriers may change without notice. If your carrier is not supported, we will contact you by email or phone instead.
8. Privacy
We use your mobile number to send these messages and for nothing else. We do not sell it, and we do not pass it to anyone for their own marketing. Twilio carries the messages for us. The full detail is in our privacy policy.
9. Changes
If we change these terms we change the effective date at the top. If a change matters to you, we will say so before it takes effect.
